My Favorite Prep Tools!

·

I have been getting more and MORE questions about what tools I like to use for prepping my special education materials. You know, all things lamination and velcro. Well, rather than continuing to repeat myself I thought some of you may find this quick post with all the links useful for you and your prep pile!  Absolutely everything in this post I have used, re-used and HIGHLY recommend to any teacher creating resources for their students.

I have had this printer for 3 years and it is still working FABULOUS!
I use this off brand ink to save money and I think the print quality is still great!

I go through SO much paper prepping all of the goodies! When I was in the classroom I was fortunate enough to have all of my paper supplied to me!

I am all things TEAM SCOTCH! This is my favorite basic laminator!
This is my favorite LARGE laminator for file folders!
I know a lot of teachers use off brand laminating pouches, but I feel that they are not as sturdy! I always use scotch 3 mil for my products!
I use these “menu size” laminating pouches for posters and trimming file folder games!
CARDSTOCK! If I am creating anything that requires velcro-ing little pieces, I print it on card stock to make sure it is durable lasts year to year!
Game changer! This paper cutter will cut down SO much on your prep time!
When cutting prep materials by hand, using spring scissors seriously help reduce any wrist pain you may get!
I love this coil binding machine! All of my adapted books and social stories are oh so binded!
I use the 6 mm size binding for small social stories with little velcro!
I used the 14 mm size binding for larger adapted books/ communication books with a lot of pieces!
Astrobrights make everything better!

Colored file folders are a go to for any file folder game obsessed teacher!
If you are gluing anything before laminating you are WASTING your time. Double sided tape is so quick and does the job until the laminating pouch seals the deal!
FULL DISCLOSURE! I have bought this velcro and it works great, however I only buy this when I am in a time crunch. I prefer to buy my velcro in bulk for WAY cheaper from

I love prepping all the things for students. Honestly, prepping and a good glass of wine is almost therapeutic for me. What tools do you use that I didn’t include on my list!?
