All Things Pink! Sensory Fun
As you already know, if you’ve been following me for awhile, I love sensory fun activities. As we get ready for February, I thought it would be fun to share some pink sensory fun activities that you can easily do at home and in the classroom!
Why Incorporate Pink Sensory Fun in the Classroom?
I have several blog posts addressing the benefits of sensory play in the classroom. To read more about sensory needs in the classroom, click HERE. I also have information on sensory play HERE as well as sensory diets HERE. I also have some free sensory materials in my Free Resource Library.
Today, I am sharing four pink sensory fun activities!
- Pink Sensory Bin
- Pink Play Doh
- Sensory Bottle
- Pink Glitter Slime
Pink Sensory Bin
I had sensory bins when I was in the classroom. Simple ones with beans, white rice and sand. I really wish I got into monthly themed sensory bins when I was still in the classroom because they really offer so many learning and communication opportunities in a fun seasonal way.
Here is an example of a February sensory bin you can set up. You can easily incorporate learning activities into this simple rice sensory bin too!
Pink Play Doh
I make play doh following this simple recipe from Living Well Mom. It turns out perfect EVERY time! For the tray, I added different pink trinkets and jewels I had around the house plus a few things I got at dollar tree. Play doh trays offer so much creative play and communication opportunities. You can also incorporate following directions activities by having students follow step by step verbal directions to build something!
Pink Sensory Bottle
Sensory bottles are another clean way to incorporate sensory fun. I had a student a few years ago that loved EVERYTHING related to sensory bottles. With her, I tired just about every type of sensory bottle tutorial I found on Pinterest. Her favorites were always simple glitter sensory bottles.
Below is a simple sensory bottle with water, glitter glue, corn syrup and food gel dye and glitter/sequins. To make this:
- Add 1 cup of corn syrup to large water bottle.
- Pour desired colored glitter glue
- Add glitter/sequins
- Add more food coloring to get desired color
- Fill with warm water and SHAKE!
Now stare at this 🙂 I LOVE glitter sensory bottles! They are SO calming!
Pink Glitter Slime
I found this glitter slime recipe from Steamsational.com. Following her recipe, we were able to make the best fluffy slime! It was super simple, only needed a few ingredients and was not too horribly messy. It is perfect for a classroom! You can make this slime on a Fun Friday during work centers or maybe even during your Valentine’s Day celebrations!
I hope you enjoy these sensory activity ideas for your home or classroom! Please let me know if you try any of these activities and what other activities you will be doing this month!
